The Star of Tragara

In the years of Capri's Dolce Vita, when the terraces of Tragara filled with music, light silks and nights that seemed never to end, there were tales of a mysterious woman who appeared only at sunset.

She always arrived alone. She wore white dresses moved by the wind and jewels that reflected the sea like small fragments of light. No one knew her name. Some said she was a foreign actress who had fled the world, others swore she was a fallen noblewoman who had chosen Capri to be reborn, and still others that she was Venus herself.

But there was one detail everyone remembered. On her feet she wore extraordinary sandals, adorned with crystal starfish, red corals and blue stones that seemed to hold the colours of the island. Every time she crossed the Belvedere of Tragara, time slowed down. Conversations broke off, the sea fell silent, and even the wind seemed to follow her.

Then, one summer evening, she vanished. She left nothing of herself behind, except a legend still passed down today among the terraces overlooking the Faraglioni: that of a woman who had turned Capri into a place of rebirth.

The Star of Tragara is born from this story. The red coral recalls the island's blazing sunsets. The crystalline blue holds the colour of the sea on August evenings. The luminous starfish at its centre evokes instead the light that every woman is capable of giving off.
